ABOUT
How it works
Gaming80s is a client, not a library. It runs Apple II games in your browser and wraps them in the things a 1981 game could not have: a save state that outlives the session, a score table, a play history, and a forum.
Bring your own disks
We host the player, not the software. Disk images stay private to your account — load the ones you already have, or fetch them from a preservation archive yourself. Nothing you upload is shared with other members.
Save states
This is the feature that justifies the whole thing. Games of this era assume one sitting: no save function, no resume, no mercy. Emulator state is stored against your account, so you can put a run down and pick it up on a different machine.
Scores
Three initials and a shared table, the way a cabinet did it. Some titles report their score automatically once someone has worked out where the game keeps it in memory; everything else is on the honour system, with a screenshot for colour.
What this is not
Not a ROM site and not a shop. Nothing is sold here and nothing copyrighted is distributed from here. If you are looking for the games themselves, the Internet Archive's preservation collections are where that work actually lives.
